April 27 – Photos of the early days of Hoquiam are displayed at Historic Hoquiam Memories held at the Hoquiam Timberland Library as The Friends join this annual event.

June 9 – The anniversary of the Museum fire is remembered in a photo display at the Aberdeen Sunday Farmers Market.

June 29 – Volunteers of The Friends march and ride in the Founders Day Parade, along with friends from the Polson Museum.

July 27 – The Friends participate in Aberdeen’s first Rain Glow Festival by creating lighted pathways inside the Morck Hotel. Volunteers dress in period costume and interpret various sites within the tour highlighted by images from the hotel’s opening in 1924.

August 10 – Myrtle Street Dance held on the border between Aberdeen and Hoquiam. Event features live music, dancing, a mayoral trivia contest, food trucks and beer garden. An exhibit on the history of Electric Park is provided by the Polson Museum.

August 17 – Volunteers are celebrated at a Thank You dinner held in the former dining room at the Morck Hotel.

September – The Friends launch a new Hands on History program, including History Suitcases for use in local schools, History Chats in select venues and a Reading Corner where visitors may stop in and peruse our collection of stories on the People of Grays Harbor, Polk Directories, oral history interviews, books about Grays Harbor and photo binders of past months’ displays.

October 19 – The Friends join the Volunteer Opportunities Fair held at the Hoquiam Elks Lodge.

November 1 – First Friday features local veterans, with photos of the 5 Medal of Honor winners from Grays Harbor, as well as numerous men and women who served in our armed forces. Also on display are artifacts such as a WWII mess kit, medals and memorabilia. The first of our History Suitcases is viewed by visitors.

December 7 – The Winterfest Marketplace is graced with a display of photographs from holidays gone by and of major blizzards.
